Such Blessings from Allah

It seems that I've forgotten totally about my blog. It's been more than a year since I last updated my post. I sometimes dream about writing a very nice topic once in a while but my daily routines have kept me tied up really good.

However, I feel compelled today to write about the wonderful news that I've received yesterday. My eldest daughter, Suraya, who is in her foundation year in medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland at the Bahrain campus, scored all 1st honors in her final first semester exams. I know she had work really hard for the finals and her hard work was paid off with such excellent results. Our family is so proud of her. She's always determined to succeed in whatever she pursues and we support her all the way.

My second daughter, Nameerah, got her results too and I'm really proud of her for getting 5As and 2Bs. Her As are English Honors, Biology Honors, Chemistry Honors, Arabic 3, Digital Photography. Her Bs are Algebra 2 Honors and Modern World History. She got 99 for her Bio honors and 98 for Arabic 3 and 95 for Chemistry. Impressive, right? She's been working hard to complete all her class work and projects that sometimes having to sleep really late at night, even at 3 am. I hope Allah will make it easy for her. Ameen.

My youngest, Azalea, is also doing very well in class. She's getting a lot of 100% marks in her Social Studies tests, her English vocabulary is developing rather extensively, and she's very good in Math and Science. I hope she'll achieve what she hope to be when she grows up.

Such blessings that Allah the Almighty has bestowed upon me and my hubby. Through bad times and definitely good times, our children always colour our lives with delights and happiness. We miss them when we're apart and we savour the moments when we are together.

Alhamdulillah. Makes me proud to be a mother. :)))

7 Surprising Ways Happy Couples Stay Close.

Got a link abt the title from beloved hubby. He wrote: "Thot you might be interested to read this". Aww, gawsh, you're so sweet, Luv.

So basically what this link tells you is about 7 surprising ways happy couples stay close. It's easy actually, it's just that we tend to take each other for granted after so many years together. I find this article not only refreshing but inspirational at the same time. So here it goes:

The & Surprising Ways Couples Stay Close:
1. A beautifully framed picture from your falling-in-love days.
- Oh well, I got that one in KL, so I'd better have one too, here.
2. A movie you both love.
- no worries there...although some of my favourite movies are not a hit with him, both of us love watching Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Indiana Jones just to name a few.
3. A unique anniversary to celebrate.
- other than our wedding annversary, we also celebrate our first date together almost every year, sometimes by reminiscing and most of the time by eating ice-cream together. He might not remember it always but nonethe less he likes to reminisce the times when we were courting.
4. An empty-nest dream.
- we plan to travel, do gardening. mostly what retirees do.
5. A fight that never ends.
- of course nobody in a relationship often see eye-to eye about everything there is under the sun, so there are certain things my husband and I often disagree, but I wouldn't change a thing for the world.
6. Mad money.
- this is something that need to be considered. Even though both of us have some savings, we never consider spending them later on for some spurs-of-the-moment thing. Maybe we could just set aside some, for fun sake, huh?
7. An oversized beach blanket.
- got that one covered. hehehe!

A Very Short Umrah Trip

Last Thursday, at 10:00am, my family and I flew from Dammam to Jeddah to begin our second umrah in Makkah. This time, Alhamdulillah, all of us were able to perform the umrah without any glitch. The Haram is packed with people from all walks of life, most obviously are the people from Turkey as they are having holidays and came to Makkah in throngs.

Our journey was a bit hectic becauce we had only one day to perform the umrah and to leave the very next day before Jumaat prayer, or else the road coming in and going out of Makkah would be closed until after 3pm. As our flight was at 3pm, we could not afford to miss the trip back to Jeddah, hence we need to finish up our tawaf wida' before 10:30am. Alhamdulillah, all's well that ends well.

I know I have been quiet and not posted anything for quite a while. I am packed with the kids' activities that left me quite breathless. Indeed! The two elder ones are graduating soon, therefore they have lots of events planned and we the parents have to take part in them. Furthermore, I have my class, with my memorizations, which are now getting more and more challenging. But I have always tell myself to persevere and to hang in there. InsyaAllah, there'll be greater rewards for those who persevere. Ameen.
